Workplace Lactation Toolkits

The Michigan Breastfeeding Network and the Kent County Breastfeeding Task Force received funding to award mini-grants to organizations to help in facilitating lactation programs for businesses or agencies in their community. Using the Business Case for Breastfeeding materials, projects included:
  • Outreach to businesses
  • Implement a lactation support program for employees
  • Establishing workplace lactation rooms
  • Training for employers/employees
  • Training for child care providers to better support breastfeeding employees and breastfed children and their mothers
  • Recognition of breastfeeding friendly employers and businesses

Recipients of Michigan Breastfeeding Network’s Business Case for Breastfeeding Mini-Grants:
  • Monroe Co. Breastfeeding Collaborative
  • Washtenaw Co. Breastfeeding Coalition
  • Barbara Robertson/The Breastfeeding Center of Ann Arbor
