Milk for Thought came to Grand Rapids as a stop on their Latch On America Bus Tour! They came Thursday, July 28th! Check out the action on their Facebook page, and "Like" them if you're so inclined ;) Two bills were introduced in the Michigan Senate and House of Representatives on June 30, 2011 to make breastfeeding a civil right. You can view Senate Bill 0554 here and House Bill 4868 here. We hope to have more information about how you can support these bills soon. Thank you to the Senators and Representatives who introduced this important legislation! The recently passed Health Care Reform Bill included a provision to protect a woman's right to express milk at her workplace by making it a legal requirement for companies with 50 or more employees to provide reasonable break time and non-bathroom space for milk expression.
